Jean-Jacques Hublin, a paleoanthropologist, is the director of the department of human evolution at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany. He also holds the international chair in paleoanthropology at the Collège de France in Paris, and he is the founder and president of the European Society for the Study of Human Evolution.
