Monica Schoch-Spana, a cultural anthropologist, has both research and policy expertise in public health emergency management. She received her Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University (JHU) and is currently a senior scholar at the Center for Health Security at the JHU Bloomberg School of Public Health. For over 20 years, she has translated scholarship on disaster readiness, response, and recovery, and community resilience, into actionable recommendations for policymakers and practitioners. Schoch-Spana co-leads CommuniVax, a rapid research and action coalition, funded by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, in support of an equitable COVID-19 vaccination campaign.
