Glenn H. Shepard Jr. is an ethnobotanist and filmmaker who has worked in the Amazon for over 30 years. His writing has appeared in prominent scientific and literary venues ranging from Nature and Science to The New York Review of Books. He is now working on a book titled Sorcery and the Senses. His films include the Emmy Award–winning documentary Spirits of the Rainforest and, more recently, Zapatista Chronicle.
