Diego Garate is an archaeologist who studies the world’s earliest cave art. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Cantabria in Spain, where he is currently working as a researcher. Garate is the author of several books and papers about the symbolism of artwork made by the first modern humans in Europe, and he leads various survey projects in Spain and France.
