Michael Youngblood’s award-winning book Cultivating Community: Interest, Identity, and Ambiguity in an Indian Social Mobilization explores the politics of meaning in a populist political movement in India. He received his Ph.D. in cultural anthropology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and has taught at the School for International Training, the Maryland Institute College of Art, and Stanford University. He is currently a principal consultant at The Youngblood Group, where he employs ethnographic methods, cultural theory, and human-centered design to promote positive social innovation.
